W Com (ON 231)

W Com is a BL Lac object classified as a Blazar. The 1995 outburst was the first seen since 1980,  since when the object has continued to be active, albeit at a lower level.  Professional interest in W Com is high at various wavelengths.  This plot shows short term variations observed in W Com during the 1998 outburst.  Variations of over 0.5 mag per hour were noted visually.
